Goodbye Pic-Link

It is official. Pic-link is shutting down on June 07, 2011 after being a melting pot of ideas and friendships for the longest time.  It’s a sad thought to say goodbye to something which helped budding bloggers like I am express ourselves thru our journals, at a time when there was no other avenue to do so, other than to maintain a written journal.

It was 2004 when I first stumbled upon Pic-Link. Like it’s successors Face Pic, Face Party and now the reformatted Friendster, Pic-Link, was probably the first online community where people and most bloggers interacted freely, criticized each other’s writing styles, dated and got hitched, and witnessed the drama of people unfold.

After seven years, Pic-Link finally bids goodbye.  I have no idea as to what the new format will be like, hopefully, something better. I do know though, I am forever grateful to Pic-Link for helping me get in touch with my demons, my creative side and with my heart.

Thank you fellow Pic-link members for being with me all these years. Your comments, your friendship, your criticisms are greatly valued.

And to that someone who made me fall in love......, thank you.

Genesis

I've decided to spend most of my idle time into breathing life to another blog, well, several blogs. I was inspired by the works of people like Ron Mistica (http://palakangpetot.blogspot.com/), Canonista(http://iamembracinglife.blogspot.com/), and Xander (http://aboynamedxander.blogspot.com/) who don't seem to run out of brain juice as they keep all their creative juices flowing. My heart is pumping blood unusually like a five year old kid rushing for candy, but my brain is that hand that holds on to that kid saying NO.

I used to write a lot when I was younger. I'd spend most of my day either referencing articles or making up stories and bringing life to characters. I wonder where all of these characters are now...probably, in the same limbo as I am. Nonetheless, I do know that if one is born with a writer's soul, one will manage to find a way to tell stories about the most mundane things in the world - exaggerate comedy, put more drama in daily routines, and let the world witness the dramedies of humanity.

At some point, there will be a clash between reality and fantasy, drama versus comedy, humanity versus the unknown, and logic versus faith. I do not even know what the hell I am writing about. But my stupid fingers just go click..click..click and my laptop doesn't seem to mind.

Click... click.. click....

Project Reconstruction

And then a light bulb moment ....

I can actually dig into my old Friendster and Pic-Link Blogs for updates. Yebah! We will survive.
